Byron Center Bulldogs

Congratulations to the Girl's Varsity Cross Country team on their 1st Place finish in the 2024 MSU Spartan Invitational! They finished 1st out of 22 teams! Six of the girls medaled being in the top 30 finishers. Those six girls included Kailey Mann (19th), Celia Pollock (22nd), Donna Haaksma (23rd), Lillian Johnson (28th), Emmarie Formsma (29th), and Natalie Formsma (30th). The Boy's Varsity team had a great day also, finishing 5th out of 17 teams. Mitchell Jeruzal led the boys with a 2nd place finish in the Division 1 class, while Memphis Connor finished 7th overall. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were Cole Wisener (32nd), Freshman Zach Newman (51st), Brady Newman 64th), and Blake Rhoton at (79th). The Girl's JV team also had a great showing on Friday, finishing 3rd overall out of 17 teams for Girl's JV Division 1. Cora Ball led the Bulldogs with a 12th place finish overall, with Addy Hughes coming in next (16th), Maeve VanDam (22nd), Tessa Feldpausch (24th), Madison Bastic (27th), Evelyn Weaver (31st), Adilyn VanderWerf (32nd), and Abigail Tromp (38th). Personal records were tough to come by on Friday as the course at MSU Forest Akers East is tough to PR on, along with the warm temperatures. Emmarie Formsma and Quinn Middleton had the only PRs for BC for the day. Also, a big thank you to Dr. Macina for attending the race Friday to cheer on all of the athletes! Great job Bulldogs!
