8/29/26 | Byron Center, MI — The Byron Center Bulldogs tennis team (8-0-1) earned three strong victories at its home quad on Saturday, defeating Grand Rapids Christian, 7-2; University of Detroit Jesuit, 8-1; and Birmingham Groves, 5-4. “It was a great day of tennis against some good competition at every flight,” said Byron Center head coach Andy Ely. The day was capped by strong wins from 4S Ashton Smith and the 2D team of Sam Newell and Terrence Simmons. “Overall, we were proud of the effort we gave throughout the day. The guys know there are still things to work on, and this quad helped the coaches identify many of them to address in practice.” Byron Center will begin conference play Monday at home against Caledonia, and Wednesday at Jenison.
